Sense of Place

Art Direction, Illustration, Packaging Design

For Clarins, the agency developed a sense-of-place packaging concept for travel retail, built around a story of Clarins Explorer. Each sleeve follows the Clarins Explorer on a different leg of her journey, carrying the brand’s plant-powered expertise from the French Alps into destinations around the world. The idea was to let each market showcase its own unique sense of place, while still feeling authentically and recognisably Clarins.​

Illustration sits at the centre of the concept. From architecture and landscapes to colour and mood, every detail was designed to reflect the character of each destination and turn the packaging into something more than a standard travel retail exclusive.​

The journey began with Malaysia, Taiwan, Jeju, Japan, Korea and Thailand, with each edition adding a new chapter to the story.​
